Comprehensive Hearing Assessments
At Nicholas Petersen Hearing & Ear Care, we offer a range of hearing tests to accurately assess your hearing health. Our tests are conducted using the latest technology and provide valuable insights into your auditory abilities.
Types of Hearing Tests

Otoscopy
Testing
Otoscopy is a simple yet essential procedure used to examine the ear canal and eardrum. It involves the use of an otoscope, a handheld instrument with a light source and magnifying lens.

Tympanometry
Testing
Tympanometry is a simple, painless test that measures the movement of the eardrum (tympanic membrane) in response to changes in air pressure. It helps assess the health and function of the middle ear.

Air Conduction Testing
Air conduction testing is a fundamental component of a hearing test, designed to evaluate your ability to hear sounds transmitted through the outer, middle, and inner ear.

Bone Conduction Testing
Bone conduction testing is a type of hearing test that assesses your hearing by bypassing the outer and middle ear. Instead of sending sound waves through the air, it directly stimulates the inner ear through vibrations.

Speech
Discrimination Testing
Speech discrimination testing, also known as word recognition testing, is a crucial component of a comprehensive hearing evaluation. It measures your ability to understand and recognise spoken words.
Why Regular Hearing Tests Matter
Regular hearing assessments are crucial for early detection and management of hearing loss. Annual hearing tests are recommended, or more frequently if advised by your Audiologist.
